Quick Quips: Raw 8.20.12

- I missed the opening segment but from what I heard it wasn’t anything impressive besides of the expected Paul Heyman awesome promo.

- NO reaction for Sin Cara but still gets the pin in the tag match. Can’t really blame the fans. If they don’t watch Smackdown, they have no idea what the storyline is between Sin Cara and Cody Rhodes.

- Who would have thought little AJ Lee would be able to get skipping over?

- It’s actually refreshing to see Ryback on Raw since they smartly left him off of Summerslam.

- These stipulations for Jericho and Ziggler is what I expected for Night of Champions. I’m surprised they’re just rushing it on Raw.

- I HATE the fact that the Del Rio and Sheamus feud is continuing.

- It really does seem as if AJ has been in EVERY segment so far. I’m glad she finally acknowledged that Harley Quinn of “Batman” fame is a big influence on her character. I mean the similarities were uncanny.

- WWE Production has gotten so lazy! During my time, promos for Smackdown after a PPV used to HAVE to be cut on the Monday after the show because we didn’t know the results of any of the matches. Now they’re cutting promos asking “Who is the World Heavyweight Champion?” that aired RIGHT after an in-ring segment revealing the entire World title storyline and who the champion is.

- Great twist at the end of the match with the foot on the rope. Loving Sheamus’ character.

- Why do I feel like CM Punk lost a bet to Sheamus and no has to fully grow the Sheamus beard?

- Just checking my email and saw that WWE “Ass Kicker” Brock Lesnar recently posted a Tout following his in-ring promo with Paul Heyman that kicked off Monday Night Raw tonight. Lesnar said that he had accomplished all that he set out to in WWE, and there was nothing left to conquer before claiming “I’m leaving the WWE, and I’m never coming back.”

- I guess we should be excited that we’re getting a Summerslam match on Raw but Brodus Clay vs Damien Sandow just doesn’t appeal that much to me.

- And this is why I’m happy I didn’t have to sit through this match on Summerslam. Although it might have been shorter on the PPV.

- LITTLE too Lanny Poffo there Sandow. Leave the cartwheel in the back.

- They’ve turned this Triple H/Brock Lesnar storyline into almost a carbon copy of Triple H or Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker.

- Punk naming his Raw opponent turned into him naming his next #1 contender for the WWE title? That seems like it was a last minute change.

- These “WWE.com Exclusive” videos are eerily similar to how TNA shoots their backstage segments.

- While scrolling the best photoblog on the ‘net, The Chive, I just randomly stumbled upon this awesome picture:

- For a guy not many people believed had the charisma to survive in the WWE, Daniel Bryan is proving everyone wrong, every single week!

- You really have to feel for Zack Ryder. First time on Raw in months and of course, he gets crushed by Kane.

- Hey look at that. I posted a picture of Kaitlyn and amazingly she’s the #1 contender now!

- Brock Lesnar accomplished everything he wanted to accomplish by winning one match. Good thing he doesn’t set very lofty goals.

- I would have like to see these stipulations added to their match last night as it was a much better match. Don’t get me wrong, this match was VERY good but last night’s match was just that much better.

- I think this was the first time Chris Jericho has left the WWE without being embarrassed beforehand.

- I might actually want to see “The Day”, but not in the theater.

- I’d like to see Punk just shove the belt at Cena saying that’s “his” belt and he’s done playing Robin to his Batman.

- Ugh I think I’m choking to death on the sweetness of this John Cena promo.

- The hometown that typically boos John Cena out of the building.

- So I guess that was the “official” heel turn of CM Punk. Man, they could have done so many different things that would have been better than beating up Jerry Lawler!

I think this crowd is dead. Not reacting to anything. That being said, Heyman is in a class by himself. He could read the phonebook and it would be cool.
The 6-man tag was good but Im getting tired of Cody losing. He should be at the top of the card. NO REACTION to Ryback. I hate that they piped in the “Feed me More” chant into his theme. It takes away from the theme.

It seems like Sandow is moving towards the top of the card, while Brodus is in mid card hell.

With all due respect to Kaitlyn, that Diva battle royal stunk. All those Diva battle royals stink. At this point, either put up or shut up with the Divas. I mean how much more can you take of the Divas being pointless.
That Jericho/Ziggler was a nice little match. They have good chemistry. Hopefully, this leads to better things for Ziggler.
Hey, if I’m Zack Ryder, I pray that I NEVER BE ON RAW AGAIN!! Why bother? He gets buried anyway. He should stick to his awesome youtube show.
