Cam’s NXT Recap: 2.27.13

: NXT opened with Bo Dallas, Dusty Rhodes and Corey Graves. Graves was carrying the NXT Title. Rhodes said Dallas deserves to be here and tonight it would be Dallas against Graves and Connor O’Brian in a triple threat match to determine the new number one contender for Big E Langston’s NXT Title.

Justin Gabriel w/ Tyson Kidd v. Leo Kruger

: Last week Kruger attacked Kidd on NXT as Tyson was giving an update on his injury. Justin came to the aid of Kidd last week, leading up to this match tonight.

: Justin knew he had to keep the big man down and this wasn’t the first time these two have battled before. Gabriel flipped Leo down and used several submission moves as Kidd shouted, ‘that’s the dungeon right there.’

: Gabriel, surprisingly, was able to keep Kruger down but just as I typed that Leo punched his way out of the hold and he turned the tables applying a choke hold.

: Gabriel and Kruger exchanged offense back and forth until Kruger Irish whipped Justin in the ring pole. Kruger then took to the shoulder of Gabriel but Justin wouldn’t go down with more of a fight.

: All the momentum was going in Justin’s direction until Kruger dropped Justin on his shoulder and all momentum was lost.

: Leo continued to work on the shoulder until Gabriel used his best asset, his legs, taking down Leo. From the top rope Justin hit a spring-board flip on Leo but somehow the big man kicked out before the three count.

: Gabriel went for another big time move but Leo caught him with his big time close line but SOMEHOW Justin kicked out at 2 and ¾.

: Gabriel climbed the top rope but Leo was right behind, Justin sunset flipped Kruger off of him then hit the big time 450 Splash for the victory.

Aksana v. Emma

: In an international show down the crowd lost complete interest while Emma began acting like a slightly retarded person. Not sure if that is part of her character or she was drunk because we rarely see her.

: Aksana controlled the match while taunting Emma and teasing the men in the audience.

: Emma caught Aksana taunting too much and applied a modified head lock, but Aksana tried to escape but was slammed down by Emma for a two count.

: Aksana escaped the hold and out of nowhere hit a spine buster to pick up the victory.

: Backstage Renee Young along with NXT referees and doctors were tending to Bo Dallas. Young said he was found there and that the Number One Contender’s Match was next.

Corey Graves v. Connor O’Brian Number One Contender’s Match

: Graves tried to stand toe to toe with O’Brian but twice Connor shoved Corey back into the corner.

: Corey tried to quicken the pace but again O’Brian took him down and applied a side headlock.

: O’Brian continued the offense, tossing Graves out of the ring and back in.

: Connor was in total control the whole match, but Graves reversed O’Brian, using the ring post and apron as a weapon.

: Corey used all his submission knowledge against O’Brian.

: These two are such polar opposites and work very well together throughout the whole match.

: Graves continued to work on the legs of O’Brian in order to weaken him enough for The 13th Step.

: Connor finally managed to break free, he rolled out of the ring but Corey was in hot pursuit as both men exchanged blows back and forth.

: Just as Connor was gaining momentum the lights went out and The Shield was in the ring, attacking both men and using their triple power bomb on both men before cutting a promo as NXT ended.

: Great show overall, NXT is quickly becoming the best show the WWE has to offer.
