The Midcard’s 15 Minutes: 5 NXT Superstars You Will Know By the End of 2013

The WWE is currently filled with plenty of talent that can carry them over the next decade or so. There are several guys who can be the next John Cena who are signed to the main roster, and the talent pool doesn’t stop there; the WWE’s developmental territories, like other sports, have always been important to developing the next faces of professional wrestling. NXT is no different, they have so much talent down in Florida most guys only see ‘TV’ time every couple of weeks. With all the talk of John Cena, CM Punk and Randy Orton being in their thirties, while that is usually the prime for professional wrestlers, shouldn’t scare the WWE at all. The next Cena, Punk and Orton are all down in the Sunshine State just waiting for the call. Corey Graves, Kassius Ohno, Adrian Neville, Bray Wyatt and Paige are among the best NXT has to offer. These are the six names you WILL KNOW by the end of 2013.

10 Thoughts: WWE Raw 2.25.13 (Brock Lesnar, Triple H, John Cena, CM Punk)

Raw 2012 - 2

1. Very hot open to Raw tonight… well after the Vince McMahon/Paul Heyman promo. This was Wrestling Booking 101. We all knew this was going to happen and yet IT STILL HAPPENED BECAUSE IT WAS LOGICAL! And while it was unintentional, Brock Lesnar being busted added immensely to the segment. These two men are in a blood feud and FINALLY blood was actually involved. Also, I never thought it would make a difference but Triple H’s haircut actually makes him look more jacked and badass. This segment made look forward to a match I didn’t have any interest in a week ago.

JC’s Top Rope Report: The RAW Truth Review for 2.25.13

JC Top Rope Logo

WE’RE GONNA FIGHT!!!
Vince McMahon walked to the ring on crutches. Vince said he likes to do things big, so why not start RAW with a fight. Paul Heyman came down the ramp. He said he’s waited his entire life for this fight. Vince has always thought of Heyman as a wuss, but Heyman said he is all man. He said Vince has as much a chance of beating him as Tony Romo does the Super Bowl. Heyman asked Vince if he was sure he wanted to do this. But before Vince could answer, Heyman hit him with a Spear and then a crutch to the leg. Vince blocked another crutch shot and hit Heyman with it. Brock Lesnar suddenly came out. Before Brock could attack Vince, HHH came out. Hunter and Lesnar brawled on the outside. HHH threw Brock into the post and Brock got busted open hardway. HHH clotheslined Brock over the barricade. Lesnar came back and threw HHH on the announce table. HHH came back with a chair shot in the ring as Lesnar retreated,

Cam’s SmackDown Recap 2.22.13

WWE Smackdown 2012 Header.jpg

: World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio opened SmackDown, pointing at that damn sign of all signs. Del Rio said his opponent would be Jack Swagger. Del Rio went on to preach the American dream is the reason for his success and other like him belong in America, that is why America is such a great country. Doesn’t this feel like Obama against Romney all over again?

: Randy Orton’s music hit and out came the viper. Orton said he knew it would be Del Rio against Swagger at Mania, but tonight Swagger was all Orton’s.

JC’s Top Rope Report: Thoughts On Jack Swagger

JC Top Rope Logo

Unless you’ve been away from your phone, computer, Twitter etc. in the last few hours, you probably know by now that Jack Swagger was arrested last night after the Smackdown taping in Mississippi. He was arrested for DUI and marijuana possession. It should be noted that Swagger was under the influence of marijuana, not alcohol. That doesn’t change the fact that what Swagger did was absolutely stupid for somebody in his position.

Swagger was put in possibly the biggest position of his WWE career. He had just won the Elimination Chamber match on Sunday to earn a World Title shot at Wrestlemania. To me, that is bigger than him winning the World Title in 2010. Swagger gets the chance to be in a Title match at Wrestlemania. If you would have told me Jack Swagger was going to be in a Title match at Mania two months ago, I would’ve assumed you were talking about the United States Title. I would have never guessed that Swagger was going to receive the push that he did.

The Midcard’s 15 Minutes: Eight Fates After WrestleMania

All eyes involved with professional wrestling and even the ones who don’t like or don’t work for the WWE to some degree have fixed upon WrestleMania. The focus shifts now to Undertaker’s health or want of more money, Does Triple H come back to take revenge on the man, Brock Lesnar, who injured his father in law? Who else would POP if ‘Here Comes the Money’ hits and out walks Shane O Mac to challenge Lesnar? It won’t happen but for fantasy bookings sake I had to throw it out there. It is also crystal clear now John Cena versus The Rock will happen again, this time for the WWE Title. Alberto Del Rio will defend the World Heavyweight Title against Jack Swagger, who imagined saying that even two months back? While all the focus is on WrestleMania my focus, however, turns to what happens after Mania, even the follow-up episode of Raw the next night. What happens then? The Rock may or may not come back for summer time, and Brock Lesnar did sign another two-year, select dates, so he will be around every now and then for the foreseeable future. I don’t toss and turn at night thinking about the booking of these guys, but a select number of guys, eight to be exact. I almost added Zack Ryder to my list but he may be beyond saving, it’s a shame that a guy gets himself over, develops a following and the WWE just pretends it never happened and shuns him to the basement like Milton in Office Space. Daniel Bryan, Antonio Cesaro, all three members of The Shield, Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow where, oh where will these great talents land once WrestleMania Season is over.

10 Thoughts: WWE Raw 2.18.13 (The Rock, John Cena, CM Punk, New WWE Title)

Raw 2012 - 2

1. Well if you didn’t already realize that WrestleMania is right around the corner, cue up John Cena’s music to start off the show. Oh and make sure you don’t mention that he lost last night cleanly to 3 rookies.

2. Why am I watching the rest of the show? Next week we get a number one contender’s match between John Cena & CM Punk for a shot at The Rock for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. The only thing I can hope for now is that the rest of this show is used to build up the undercard for WrestleMania.
