-I’m starting to sour on Dolph Ziggler. A lot of it has to do with the look. Some of it also has to do with his reckless style that causes him injuries. The perfect example from Payback being Ziggler getting busted open pretty bad after failing to execute a proper headbutt. That bleeding looked as bad as a poorly done blade job. And it is reasons like that why Dolph Ziggler won’t be getting any big pushes any time soon.
-The New Day and Tyson Kidd/Cesaro can wrestle every TV show for the rest of eternity for all I care. Both of their matches at the last two Network shows have been the match of the night. All three members of the New Day have done a great job of embracing their gimmick after the heel turn. I can’t wait to see both of these teams in the Elimination Chamber in a couple weeks.
-Credit to both Ryback and Bray Wyatt for both busting their asses to put on a decent match. But I just didn’t care about the feud going into it. It was just a way for Bray to pick up a win and try to save any form of respectability as a character.
-Predictable finish for John Cena/Rusev. I’ll be interested to see who comes to “rescue” Lana during the break-up from Rusev. Can’t leave a damsel in distress like that. And hopefully for John Cena, this means more US Open Challenge matches.
-Both the Divas match and Neville/Barrett just seemed like filler matches. The Divas tag match was just a way to stretch out the current program because there are no other Divas around to put in the Title program. Barrett has gone NOWHERE since winning King of the Ring, which was a gimmick I predicted would do nothing for him on the Wrestling Radio Show. I’m assuming both men will end up in the Intercontinental Title Elimination Chamber.
-The WWE Title Match had a lot going on. The constant Kane/J&J Security interference took away a little bit of the fun for me. But nevertheless, I still thought it was a good WWE Title Match. The mini-Shield reunion to powerbomb Randy Orton through the table was probably the best moment. In the end, Rollins retains the Title and I’ll be interested to see where Rollins goes to next. I thought a Rollins/Kane match was possible, but now that doesn’t seem likely. Does he move on to a one-on-one match with Reigns or Ambrose? There’s TWO PPVs in the next four weeks. So there’s always a possibility of some rematches. Which if I was a betting man, I’d say we get.
I thought it was a decent show. The first three matches delivered in their own ways. Cena/Rusev dragged on a bit and the WWE Title match was good. Match of the Night still goes to the Tag Title Match.
