The death of Dusty Rhodes today has totally caught me off-guard. Not only was the “American Dream” one of the greatest professional wrestlers to ever lace up the boots, Dusty was the first person at the WWE to be kind to the new outsider that just didn’t fit in with the rest of the crew. He took the time to sit and chat with me for no other reason than to make me feel more comfortable at my dream job. For a few minutes, I felt like I was talking to a co-worker instead of a Hall of Famer. I’m sure Dusty never thought twice about the interaction but it was such a brief but incredible moment of my life. That’s the type of guy he was. That’s the man I’ll miss. Well that and one of the most charismatic talkers & performers the world has ever seen.
