-Dean Ambrose interrupted Triple H to start the show and challenged him to a WWE Title match. Later in the night, Ambrose fought Alberto del Rio. Triple H came down during the match. After an attack from the League of Nations, Ambrose tried fighting back against HHH but ate a Pedigree. HHH said he has his match, Ambrose said “Thanks,” and HHH proceeded to beat up Ambrose some more.
The WWE announced that the Fabulous Freebirds will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. In its prime in World Class Championship Wrestling, the group was lead by Michael P.S. Hayes, Terry Gordy and Buddy Roberts. In WCW, Jimmy Garvin became a member of the group with Hayes and Gordy. Garvin was always considered to be an unofficial member of the group.
Here we are again. We’re heading into Wrestlemania and there are questions about the main event of the biggest show of the year. You have to go back to Wrestlemania 28 to remember the last time the WWE put together the right main event (John Cena vs The Rock). At Wrestlemania 29, Cena/Rock 2 was never the right way to go. The WWE couldn’t make that match interesting the second time around. While the WWE ended up making the right call for Wrestlemania 30, it wasn’t until a complete fan revolt took place that the WWE changed their minds. Then at Wrestlemania 31, the WWE went with Reigns/Lesnar. I defended it at the time, and the match ended up being very good, but the build caused a lack of buzz heading into the show.
Jack Evans vs PJ Black
-Evans takes the mic from Melissa Santos and introduces himself. Sorry Jack, I know Melissa has her flaws, but she’s much nicer to look at when she does the announcing.
-Thank god these two have different colored wrestling gear on. I can barely tell the difference between them.
In a surprising and surreal moment, Shane McMahon made his return to the WWE on RAW. Shane interrupted the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award Ceremony in which Vince was going to give the award to Stephanie. Shane came back to say he wanted control of RAW. Vince said if he wanted it, he would have to have one more match. And that match would be at Wrestlemania against The Undertaker and it would be inside Hell In A Cell.
Justin C here. I’ll be bringing you the results of Fastlane here as they happen.
Kalisto defeats Alberto del Rio in a Two Out Of Three Falls Match To Retain The United States Championship
-Good opener. Definitely better than their Royal Rumble match. Del Rio won the first fall via DQ. The announcers questioned why Del Rio did that which they should have known. To win the second fall, Del Rio hit a quick version of his double stomp which looked better than his normal one. Del Rio hit another one on the outside, where Kalisto’s head hit the floor rather hard. Kalisto won the Third Fall with a roll up. The finish was a bit clunky because as I said, Kalisto might have a concussion. But it was good match that was a definite improvement over the Royal Rumble.

#1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match for a WWE Championship Match at WrestleMania 32:
Dean Ambrose vs Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar
-Nice new banner huh? Thanks to my fellow writer Joe O’Brien for that.
-Ivelisse is in Catrina’s office. She wants a match against the Disciples of Death for the Trios Title. Catrina says no automatic rematches, and there’s another trios team they have to face tonight.
1. Now that’s an exciting way to kick off RAW. I was wondering what path the Intercontinental title was going to take now that Dean Ambrose is in the main event picture and by putting the title on the line on the RAW before Fastlane I believe it gives fans MORE faith in an Ambrose title win on Sunday since he won’t be “weighed down” by also being the IC champion. Go ahead, name all of the other secondary champions that won the “big one” at the same time as holding the Intercontinental or United States Championship not named the Ultimate Warrior. I’ll wait.
