JC’s Top Rope Report: 5 Bold Predictions For Wrestlemania Weekend

JC Top Rope Logo 2

The title is pretty self explanatory. We are less than a week away from Wrestlemania 32. And Friday starts Wrestlemania weekend with NXT Takeover and ends with RAW on Monday (sorry I’m not counting Smackdown). If you read my thoughts on RAW, you know that I wasn’t very fond of the go home show, or the entire Wrestlemania weekend. The WWE needs a shake-up this weekend. If they come out of Wrestlemania without a couple of big stories, the next few months will be rough.

So here are my 5 bold predictions for Wrestlemania 32 weekend:

-Shane McMahon and The Undertaker started the show. Shane said if Taker’s legacy had to die in order for his to start, then so be it. But Shane also said that Taker’s legacy really died two years ago. Taker said that Shane has always been his daddy’s bitch. Both men started brawling. Taker went to deliver the Last Ride to Shane, but Shane escaped and hit Taker with the TV monitor. Shane then hit an elbow off the top rope on Taker through the announce table. As Shane walked to the back, Taker sat up.

Lucha Underground: Season 2, Episode 9 Review: AZTEC WARFARE!

AZTEC WARFARE!!!

-As we know from last week, Fenix is #1. Out comes Rey Mysterio at #2 and he soaks up the ovation from the crowd.

-In at #3 is King Cuerno, and we know his history with Fenix. Cuerno hits his dive to the outside on Fenix and to this day it still amazes me how much distance he gets.

JC’s Top Rope Report: Is Anyone Really Interested In Wrestlemania?

JC Top Rope Logo 2

We are less than two weeks away from Wrestlemania 32. But if you watched RAW this past Monday, you wouldn’t even know it. You would expect the second last RAW before Wrestlemania to be full of non-stop action and story telling to get you excited for the show. But instead, we had a show with one very good match (Kevin Owens/AJ Styles) and what felt like a bunch of filler in between.

-Kevin Owens defeated AJ Styles in a great match. Styles was distracted by Chris Jericho again, and Styles fell victim to an Owens roll-up. Later in the night, Styles tried to distract Jericho in his match with Fandango (yes, he still exists) but it did not work. Styles challenged Jericho to a match at Mania.

Report: Sting Forced To Retire Due To Neck Injury

According to a report from TMZ Sports, Sting is being forced to retire due to a neck injury. If you remember, Sting injured his neck taking a turnbuckle powerbomb in his match against Seth Rollins at Night of Champions.

The report states that Sting is dealing with cervical spinal stenosis. This condition affects the nerves in the neck and is the same issue that caused Edge to retire. According to the report, Sting is expected to make the announcement at the Hall of Fame ceremony Wrestlemania weekend.

Sting has had a storied career in the ring. He is one of the best babyfaces to ever step foot in a wrestling ring. Fans got behind him in WCW, not only in his early days with the blech blonde hair but also when he became the crow and sat in the rafters. Some of the pops Sting received during the Monday Night Wars era were incredible. I’m glad Sting was able to wrestle inside a WWE ring before he retired. And while I may not have agreed with the result, at least Sting was able to compete at Wrestlemania.
