1. What A Waste Of A Best Of 7 Series
-After last night I had a feeling that Cesaro and Sheamus were going to get a Tag Title match. And as they argued in the ring with Mick Foley, I think it became even clearer.
Talk about a stupid waste of time. Cesaro and Sheamus, from a storyline perspective, beat the crap out of each other for seven matches. Then at Clash of Champions, they have the best match of their series. You expect a rubber match at the next PPV. But nope. The WWE takes the easy way out. I now feel like watching these two fight the last month was a huge waste of time. The series deserved a proper blowoff. Instead the WWE goes with a lazy solution that won’t help either Cesaro or Sheamus.
2. It IS Possible To Bury Gallows and Anderson Further
-If you read my Clash of Champions Review (and if you didn’t why not?) you know that I was pissed at Gallows and Anderson losing again. At least New Day cheated to win. So Gallows and Anderson had an out. And I figured they would get a rematch.
Of course the WWE did this on RAW. And of course, Gallows and Anderson lost AGAIN. And this time it was clean. There is no point in keeping them on RAW anymore. They should go to Smackdown and team back up with AJ Styles. All of their momentum is halted on RAW. They’ve lost so many times that I bet they wish they were back in New Japan. But now we have to get the “unlikely tag team” scenario with Cesaro and Sheamus.
3. RAW’s Women’s Division Needs Paige and Emma
-This thought should be apparent to almost everyone. As good as Sasha, Bayley and Charlotte are in the ring, seeing them go back and forth every week is becoming a bit tiresome. The division is essentially those three and Dana Brooke fighting every week with a possible Nia Jax squash as well. Adding Paige and Emma to this division would give a much needed boost of change to the division. Paige could come out and attack Bayley to start a feud there. Emma could come back and try to get Dana Brooke back on her side. It adds a lot more feuds and potential to the division.
4. Seth Rollins Was Made To Look Weak Tonight
-I mean seriously? I get Rollins was hurt and he probably couldn’t do too much. But Rollins just backed away when security came out to stop him. If this was the Attitude Era Steve Austin would have ridden out on a zamboni to get to Owens and Jericho. The WWE is probably wondering why Rollins isn’t quite getting over as a face. Well you can go all the way back to making him a heel when he returned. But they aren’t making him look like a true face, or one the fans really want to get behind, since his turn. Rollins needs a true breakout moment in the next few weeks to get people behind him.
5. This Show Was Used To Set Up Next Week
-The WWE pretty much knew they were going to get slaughtered in the ratings. They trotted out their good stuff early (US and Tag Title matches) and filled in the rest before the main event after the debate. But they announced a Women’s Title match next week and celebrity appearances by Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson. Tonight’s show wasn’t all that bad, but nothing noteworthy happened at all tonight.
Roman Reigns vs Rusev for the United States Championship Ended in a Double Countout
New Day defeated Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson to retain the Tag Titles
Bayley defeated Anna Fields, who may or may not have been related to Mrs. Fields from the cookie stands
Rich Swann and Cedric Alexander defeated Lince Dorado and Drew Gulak
Cesaro and Sheamus defeated 2 Jobbers
T.J. Perkins defeated Tony Nese- The crowd did a bunch of stupid chants during the match. They will then bitch when the cruiserweights are being squashed in a month.
Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho defeated Enzo Amore and Big Cass
