I swear when I put these together this week, I had no intentions of the first three being “Wrestler X Wins Y Title.” Sometimes things just break that way.
Women Crush Wednesday looks back at the “9th Wonder of the World” Chyna this week. Despite her troubled last few years of her life, there is no denying that Chyna was a big player in the Attitude Era.
Chyna was over. She received big pops whenever she came out. And the WWE knew that had something special with her. So they decided to start having her wrestle men. And it didn’t seem out of place really. They pushed her as being competitive with male wrestlers.
At No Mercy 1999, Chyna took on Jeff Jarrett in a “Good House Keeping Match.” Jarrett was on his way out of the company. He reportedly asked for a good chunk of change to do the job to Chyna on the way out even though Jarrett denies that.
Chyna would go on to feud with Chris Jericho the rest of the year. Those two actually had good chemistry with each other in their segments.
