1. Seth Rollins Is Turning Into Generic Babyface 101
-The target audience sure loved Seth Rollins calling Chris Jericho “sparkle crotch.” But man, that absolutely took me back to the Roman Reigns “tater tots” line. And not in a good way.
Rollins has yet to breakout as the top face on RAW and I still think that he is struggling to do so. I’ve said this before and I’ll say this again: Rollins needs to beat the shit out of Triple H the next time he shows up. The WWE, of course, missed a huge opportunity by keeping Rollins as a heel when he returned. Pretty much everything about this Rollins face run isn’t working at the moment and it needs to be fixed.
2. It Couldn’t Be More Obvious That Sheamus and Cesaro Are Filler For New Day
-I doubt that I am the only one, but I just can’t get behind the team of Sheamus and Cesaro. At all. And I think part of that is because the WWE is making it obvious that they will not be New Day for the tag titles. The WWE is pushing New Day breaking Demolition’s title reign streak pretty hard. They are not going to lose the Tag Titles to a put together team that the WWE has no intention of pushing as a team. I guess I’d rather see the New Day beat Sheamus and Cesaro rather than the Club again, so that’s a plus. But I’ve also made it known that I am over New Day as tag champs. I can’t wait for them to pass Demolition and lose the Titles.
3. Poor Sami Zayn
-Last week I talked about how Neville and Sami Zayn should be called “Team Directionless.” Now that idea appears to be completely out the window. At least if the WWE was going to team Zayn and Neville it would be something. Now it looks like Sami Zayn will be fed to BRAAUUNNN Strowman. As I’m sure you all know by now, I’m a Braunnnn Strowman fan. But even I don’t think that Sami Zayn deserves to be fed to him. Zayn deserves so much better than what he is currently getting. He could be much better on Smackdown if he were there. But he is somehow lost in the shuffle on RAW. Not surprising.
4. The WWE Needs To Air These Sit Down Interviews More Often
-I enjoyed the sit down interviews of Sasha Banks and Charlotte tonight. I mean Lita was somewhat bad as an interviewer, but the topic matter and material was good. And if you have seen any of Michael Cole’s interviews on WWE.com you know that they are also well done. I know it sucks for the live crowd that they didn’t see Charlotte or Sasha wrestle, but seeing these interviews in place of that is fine with me.
5. Goldberg’s Return Delivers
-The crowd was behind Goldberg the whole way. You had to be nervous that some of the crowd would not be accepting to him. But the crowd backed him. And he actually cut a good promo. Heyman will play off of Goldberg wanting to be a “hero for the kids” and talk about Goldberg being soft. There was no set date for the match, but all signs point to Survivor Series. It’ll be interesting to see the rating for Goldberg’s segment and if viewers tuned in for it. But the WWE did a good job with Goldberg tonight, and I’ll be interested to see Lesnar and Heyman’s response next week.
