WWE RAW 11.7.16: Five Thoughts w/Justin C

1. Stephanie McMahon Is The Worst Motivator Ever

-Listening to Stephanie McMahon in the opening segment was very tough. You would have thought that she was talking about the election when she said this was pitting husband against wife etc. Then she says that the RAW team’s jobs depend on them winning. So what is she going to do? Fire the entire team if they lose? You would think she wouldn’t if she cared about making money. That was just an awful opening performance by Steph and I would not be motivated at all to win if I were on Team RAW.

2. That Tag Team Segment Went On For WAAYYYY Too Long

-There were a couple of good one liners in there, but man did that promo segment in the ring go on for way too long. This is the problem with these Survivor Series matches. They want the audience to think it is about brand supremacy, but it is quite clear that the teams won’t get along and they don’t care about their brands one bit. That’s why their needs to be stipulations added to the match in order to get the teams focused and a reason to care.

3. Still Need Sasha Banks vs Bayley at Wrestlemania

-I get that the WWE, and probably Vince in particular, have a huge woody for Charlotte. But the WWE needs to do Sasha Banks vs Bayley at Wrestlemania. Move Charlotte to Smackdown for all I care. But that is the match the fans want to see, and it would have more heat than any match with Charlotte ever would. I hope that is why the WWE is going ahead with Charlotte vs Bayley sooner. And I don’t want a triple threat either. The match that needs to happen is Bayley vs Sasha. It will be the best women’s match in the ring, and it will have the crowd most involved. Anything without Sasha will have the crowd chanting “We Want Sasha.”

4. Sami Zayn Will Have The Better Match, But Rusev Would Be The Better Story

-The WWE finally decided to give Sami Zayn a win this week. Of course, it came at the expense of Rusev. I’m sure Zayn and Ziggler will end up having the better match. But I think the better story would have been with Rusev. It is the classic face vs heel match. Both men also have a backstory with their long, drawn out feud over last summer. Of course if Zayn wins and goes to Smackdown I will be play with this. Of course I would have said the same with Rusev. But Rusev continues to be under-utilized as a talent and I think he would have been the better option here.

5. Don’t Break Up KO and Chris Jericho Yet

-I know it was a comedy ending in the main event, with a knocked out Kevin Owens landing on Chris Jericho to get the pin. But I have a feeling we are going to see the KO/Y2J relationship coming to an end sooner rather than later. And I am not a fan of that. I honestly think that if done right, this could lead to a pretty big match at Wrestlemania. People love these two now. If they build up the heat just the right way, it could be huge for a mid-card match. Let the crowd choose who they want to cheer. It could be a fun match at Wrestlemania when they have a mid-card that usually lacks on that show.
