1. The WWE Did Nothing To Get Jack Gallagher Over
-There was a nice video package for Gallagher before his match. Then after that, he wrestled the same water-downed cruiserweight match that everyone else in the division has been wrestling since they started on RAW. I’m not too big of a fan of Gallagher, but I can see why others would be. But the WWE did not let him do any of his unique stuff during the match tonight. And this continues to show why cruiserweights won’t get over. It is bad for business.
2. Seth Rollins Is Turning Into Generic Babyface 101
-When Rollins came out tonight and started name dropping Austin, Texas, and then the Shield, I could tell he was turning into just another typical WWE babyface. The reason people don’t get over is because the WWE doesn’t allow them to stand out. Instead, they have a cookie cutte pattern that they like to follow. And it doesn’t allow anyone to get over on their own. Rollins finally called out Triple H tonight, but at this point it is almost too late. Rollins hasn’t been pissed about Triple H for awhile now. And it has hurt him because of it.
3. The Entire Rusev/Lana/Enzo Angle Was Hilariously Bad
-Last week I said I wasn’t going to write about Rusev again. I lied. Tonight’s angle was too bad to pass up. Lana and Rusev fake an argument. Lana seduces Enzo and gets him to come to her room. Big Cass has a match with Rusev, but Rusev doesn’t show up. Big Cass realizes what’s up and tries to call Enzo but he ignores it. Enzo then goes into the hotel room, and after some seductive Lana shots, gets beat up by Rusev. There were two cameramen, one outside the room and the other inside it. That’s a bit weird no? It reminded me of HHH invading Randy Orton’s house. It was way too easy to laugh at all the ridiculousness of it all. And poor Rusev will job to Big Cass when it is all set and done.
4. Like Her Or Hate Her: Charlotte Is A Heat Magnet
-There are a good amount of people who hate Charlotte and criticize her for her promos. But she got a good amount of heat tonight after she slapped Ric Flair and took out Sasha Banks. Similar to the Enzo/Rusev/Lana stuff, you could tell that it was a setup. But this one was well done. Charlotte was booed pretty heavily as the show went off the air. And it continues to set up this storyline well. They will have an ironman match at Roadblock (30 minutes), I would have preferred a Last Man Standing Match, but it should be good.
5. The WWE Is In A Boring Holding Pattern
-This goes for RAW and Smackdown. But it is quite clear that RAW and Smackdown are waiting for the end of the year to restart things and kick off the Road to Wrestlemania. Everything has been the same on TV for the last few weeks and it doesn’t look like things will change anytime soon. And unfortuantely, that makes for some bad TV. There was way too much filler on this show to enjoy anything. RAW needs a major storyline shakeup, and Smackdown needs an influx of some talent. But I think we will have to wait until after the new year for things to get interesting again.
