Tony Nese isn’t medically cleared to wrestle this week. For the love of god can the best wrestlers please stop getting injured?
Mustafa Ali v. Ariya Daivari
The winner of this match would take the place of injured Tony Niese in the fatal five way to become the number one contender for the cruiserweight title.
Ali and Daivari both showed off their arsenal exchanging several near falls until Ali hit the inverted 450 splash to pick up the win.
Lince Dorado v. Brian Kendrick
I mentioned last week that the WWE continues it’s search for their new Rey Mysterio. Dorado could be the guy, my colleague Justin, is in favor of Gran Metalik. Does the WWE believe or even know who either of these guys on their roster are?
Dorado and Kendrick put on a solid match. Brian is here to make guys like Tozawa, Alexander and Swann look great but who wouldn’t love Kendrick becoming obsessed with taking Dorado’s mask off over the course of a few matches? Instead, Tajiri returns and the veteran feud lives on.
Cedric Alexander v. Jack Gallagher v. Mustafa Ali v. Noam Dar v. TJ Perkins
TJ Perkins isn’t the most over guy in 205 Live so why did he get a t shirt first? Maybe if all five of these guys and Tony Nese came out with shirts at the same time the WWE, in their eyes, could see who’s really over.
All five men showed why they were all brought into the WWE. The cruiserweight division has made a few statements the past couple of weeks but nothing like this night. The crowd, after a two hour Smackdown show, was behind all three matches including this fatal five way. Jack Gallagher wins, the hype that the WWE believes in him is real!
