Quick Hits: WWE Smackdown Live 6.20.17

Carmella/James Ellsowrth Opening Segment

-Carmella mocked everyone for saying she needed Ellsworth to win the match for her. She said she doesn’t care. Carmella said ever since she was underestimated by being the last pick of the Draft she doesn’t care anymore.

-Carmella said that while everyone was worried about making history, she was concerned about her future.

-Carmella brought up other MITB’s when people helped others win. She then called everyone Internet Trolls for going on Twitter and complaining to Daniel Bryan.

-This is a great promo from Carmella. She doesn’t give a damn about what you people think and she is Ms. Money in the Bank.

Jimmy Uso vs Big E

-Before the match New Day complained about the Usos running scared at Money in the Bank. Big E said he is the Warden of the New Day Playpen and that “there is no easy way out or short cut home.” Quoting Rocky 4 is always bonus points with me.

-Jey distracts Big E on the apron, allowing Jimmy to hit a superkick.

-Big E catches Jimmy off the apron and then hit three Belly to Belly Suplexes.

-Big E does a little too much showboating and walks into a Samoan Drop.

-Jimmy tries bailing again after he escapes a Big Ending. Kofi catches Jey with a trustfall dive off the steps. Back in the ring Big E hits the Big Ending on Jimmy for the win.

-Lana wants another shot at Naomi and she agrees to a match next week.

-Randy Orton promo. He said Jinder crossed the line at Money in the Bank and he will do whatever he has to, even RKO all of India, to get to Jinder again.

Dolph Ziggler vs Shinsuke Nakamura

-They got rid of the stupid sound fireworks that accompanied Nakamura’s entrance so that is a plus.

-Ziggler goes for some early pinfalls. Ziggler goes for a cheapshot after the rope break but Nakamura ducks and delivers a knee and leg kicks followed by an enziguri.

-Ziggler grabs Nakamura and shoves him shoulder first into the post then delivers a dropkick.

-Both exchange the upperhand until Ziggler mocks Nakamura and eats a running knee to the gut and he gains control.

-Ziggler moves out of the way of Kinsasha and hits Nakamura in the knee then connects on a Fameasser for two.

-Nakamura applies a cross armbreaker but Dolph pokes Nakamura in the eye.

-Dolph lands on his feet after a reverse exploder suplex and hits a ZigZag. Nakamura kicks out and Dolph goes to a sleeper.

-Nakamura escapes and kicks Ziggler in the back of the neck. He then connects on Kinsasha for the win.

WINNER: Shinsuke Nakamura

Kevin Owens Face Of America Open Challenge: Kevin Owens (c) vs Chad Gable

-KO wants to fight someone from Dayton, Ohio. AJ Styles comes out first. KO says he isn’t from Dayton. Chad Gable comes out and says he just moved to Dayton this morning.

-Gable takes down Owens with a couple of deadlift German suplexes then goes for the Ankle Lock but KO gets to the ropes.

-KO drags Gable to the outside and throws him into the barricade to get control.

-Owens lifts Gable on his shoulders but Gable reverses into a DDT then hits a moonsault for two.

-KO tosses Gable into the corner. But Gable gets out of the way of a cannonball and hits a roll through German suplex for two.

-KO catches Gable with a superkick then a popup powerbomb for the win.

WINNER: Kevin Owens

Daniel Bryan Women’s Money in the Bank Decision

-Daniel said WWE officials told him to take his emotions out of it and follow the WWE rule book. Who actually follows that?

-Daniel Bryan calls all the women out. He says while there have been people that helped others in the past, no one has ever actually climbed the ladder, unhooked the briefcase and handed it to someone.

-Ellsworth says Bryan spent too much time with his vegan kid and Bryan flips and says if Ellsworth says anything about his kid again he will fire him.

-Bryan decides that they will redo the match next week. All the women brawl and it ends with Charlotte and Becky having Carmella cornered. Charlotte hits Natural Selection and Becky applies the Disarmer.

Jinder Mahal vs Luke Harper

-Harper is in control early on as he dropkicks Jinder to the outside. Harper dives to the outside onto one of the Singh Brothers but then Jinder clotheslines him.

-Jinder slows Harper, and the match, down with some slow offense and knees to the back.

-Harper starts a comeback. He goes for the discus clothesline but it is blocked. So Harper hits a Blackhole Slam for two.

-Harper goes to the top but Jinder crotches him. Jinder then hits a superplex.

-Baron Corbin comes out and teases cashing in but just circles the ring to get into Jinder’s head.

-Harper hits a Superkick but then one of the Singh Brothers distracts Harper. So Jinder hits a boot to the face then the Cobra Clutch Slam for the win.

WINNER: Jinder Mahal

-Randy Orton comes out after the match. He takes out both Singh Brothers then goes after Jinder. Orton goes for the RKO on Jinder but the Singh Brothers come back. Orton RKO’s both of them. The second comes off the ropes but takes it awkwardly.
