WWE.com broke the news today that Bayley is officially out of her SummerSlam match with Alexa Bliss. Bayley suffered a separated shoulder last week in her match with Nia Jax. Bayley will be on RAW tonight to address her injury and more than likely give a final message to the fans.
To replace Bayley, there will be two separate triple threat matches. The winners will then face each other and the winner of that match will go on to face Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam. I’d be shocked if the two winners aren’t Nia Jax and Sasha Banks.
The injury may be a blessing in disguise for the RAW Women’s Division. It got to the point again where they were only focusing storylines around four women in the division. Meanwhile on Smackdown, they have a total of seven women and multiple storylines going on. This could finally give Emma and Mickie James a chance to get a more prominent role in the division.
News came out today that Scott Dawson of The Revival also suffered a ruptured bicep this weekend. The news was first reported by Ryan Satin at ProWrestlingSheet.com. This is another bad set back for the Revival as Dash Wilder just returned from a broken jaw a couple months ago. While The Revival were not slated to be in the Tag Title match at SummerSlam, they did appear to be set to face the Hardy Boyz in what would have likely been their first match as the “Broken” characters.
You have to hope that Vince doesn’t give the Revival the old “injury prone” label that he tends to due after multiple injuries. The Revival can still be a top act in the tag team division when they return. The RAW tag team division should be in decent shape. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are on the path of to be tag champs, and you can always make Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas an official team.
