What You Need To Know: WWE RAW 12.24.18

Tonight’s episode of RAW was taped last Monday. God bless those people for sitting through that much WWE in one night. Hopefully Santa is extra nice to them this year. I worked tonight and skimmed through RAW, so I’ll let you in on everything you need to know after tonight’s show.

Ronda Rousey defeated Natalya to retain the RAW Women’s Title

I liked this match. Of course I’m also a sucker for nice technical matches on the mat and this is what that was. Not either woman’s best match but definitely watchable. Now we wait to see what lies ahead for Rousey going into the Royal Rumble.

Vince McMahon Claus Made A Few Announcements

Vince McMahon as Santa Claus, isn’t that terrifying. The minor thing he announced is Dolph Ziggler vs Drew McIntyre in a Steel Cage match next week. That stems off the aftermath of the triple threat match that Finn Balor won. This should be the end of the rivalry.

John Cena is returning to the WWE and will be appearing on both RAW and Smackdown. So it looks like Cena is retaining the free agent moniker. My guess is that this likely means he will have some sort of role at Wrestlemania. Hopefully it is not just him fighting The Undertaker again. I still think he might be the best choice to face Daniel Bryan for the WWE Title at Wrestlemania.

The biggest announcement was that there will be Women’s Tag Team Titles next year. This of course has been rumored for quite some time and it was just a matter of when not if. They didn’t say it but it would have to be cross branded. There are not enough women on each show. Of course I would say the same thing about the men’s tag team titles. If the winners aren’t Sasha Banks and Bayley then I don’t know what the hell the point of keeping them friends has been. Of course we say that a lot about the WWE.

So that is all you need to know about RAW this week. Enjoy Christmas with your families!

Until Next Time,

Justin C
